Carrying the Legacy Forward
The 2nd annual Avalon Action Alliance Gala brings our community together to reflect on progress made in addressing traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic stress, and substance abuse challenges, and to recommit to the work still ahead. It is also a moment to recognize those whose leadership has helped change what is possible for the men and women who serve.
Arthur Blank, last year’s Legacy in Service Award recipient, will present this year’s honor to Alana Shepherd, co-founder of the Shepherd Center in Atlanta and a pioneering leader in advancing care for veterans affected by traumatic brain injury.
At a time when few were focused on the long-term impact of these injuries, Alana’s leadership helped open doors to treatment, awareness, and action. Her work helped lay the foundation for a more comprehensive and compassionate approach to healing and continues to guide Avalon's mission today.
Inspired by this legacy, Avalon Action Alliance delivers integrated, personalized training and treatment for veterans and first responders nationwide, connecting them to the right care at the right time.
